Giving gifts is a great way to say 'I love you'. You can gift a special gift to your sweetheart and get loving affection from them in response. You give gifts for special occasions, anniversaries, birthdays, or just to see them smile :) But what should you give them? You need a gift that is special and unique. You shouldn't just give gifts that are considered routine. Buying flowers or chocolates is always a nice thing, and you shouldn't neglect gifts like that. But there are times when you need to give an extra special gift that will stand out in their mind and have them remember it for a long time to come.
Creativity will be appreciated. It doesn't have to be diamonds or a new car, it just has to be something that is from your heart. Some of the most treasured possesions between couples are those small gifts that have sentimental value attached to them. So no need to break your budget when a simple, unique treasure is all that is needed.
Make it special
Part of giving gifts is how you present it to them, presentation is very important. Make sure that you wrap it because anticipation is part of the enjoyment and everyone likes unwrapping a gift. Also remember to have a card along with it! Do not EVER give a gift without a card. The card makes it special and shows that it is from your heart. And you can always collect those cards at a later date and put them into a scrapbook.
But sometimes you want to make them work for it! So put together a little scavenger hunt for them. Anything worth giving them is worth pursuing for a bit and you both can have some fun with it. Start with one clue and lead them around until they discover each clue and then eventually their prize. Make it even more fun by slipping clues where they least expect it like in their pocket when they aren't looking! Whatever you do, don't make it too elaborate, being frustrated isn't what you are going for.
Gifts for special occasions
- Don't just get her perfume, get the entire family of products with the same fragrance: bath powder, soaps, cremes, candles, etc.
- Get her a locket with picture inside, preferably heart shaped with a picture of each of you on either side.
- Get a special pen/pencil set for them. Make it even more special by getting a meaningful engraving on them.
- A wooden 'Heart Shaped' puzzle box is a special gift that can also be used for them to store other keepsakes from you.
- Get personalized, matching pillows.
- Get them a crystal cube with a photo of you two inside.
Creative, romantic, and low cost gifts
- Make homemade fortune cookies and insert your own fortunes!!
- Create a flip photo book with your most treasured moments.
- Scrap book with photo and written story about each 'movie moment' that you two have shared
- Flowers and/or candy (get both, duh!)
- Write a love letter or poem to your sweetheart on a single sheet of paper. Glue it to some cardboard and once it is dry, cut it into puzzle pieces. Either mail the pieces or leave them around separatley to be discovered and reassembled.
